The foundational metaphor for platform dependency in the Hitsuyo Aku framework. Rented Land is any asset, audience, distribution, visibility, held conditionally on a third-party platform's compliance. Owned Infrastructure is any asset, email list, IP, direct relationships, sovereign platform, that cannot be seized by an algorithm change or policy shift.
**The Hitsuyo Aku Upgrade:** The basic metaphor is in circulation in creator economy discourse. The Hitsuyo Aku version is more formally defined with a named alternative (the Sovereign Citadel), a migration protocol (the Airlock Model), a named destination (the Ledger), and a named enemy (the Extraction Machine). The definitionally superior version intercepts the existing search traffic and routes it into the full cosmological framework. **The Ledger vs. the Feed:** The Feed (Web2) is ephemeral, algorithmic, rented, a liability. The Ledger (owned email, community, lore) is immutable, owned, permanent, an asset. Strategy: use the Feed only to extract attention and move it to the Ledger.
